Four employees at Diversified Communications' head quarters in Portland, Maine recently issued a challenge to their 200 colleagues – Collect 2,000 pounds of food to donate to Preble Street’s food pantry, in support of their Stop Summer Hunger campaign. Diversified employees met the challenge three times over, collecting 6,841 pounds of food, a $10,000 donation equivalent, in two weeks.
“Knowing that families’ need for food increases when children are out of school, Nicole Dunbar, Imani Clark, Tonya Fowler and I worked with Ray Hepler, Resource Development Assistant at Preble Street to coordinate Diversified’s first Help Stop Summer Hunger! Food Drive & Competition,” said Janice Rogers, Diversified’s Vice President of Human Resources. “The true inspiration behind this, however, was two young girls from Waterville, Maine who asked for food donations for their school’s food pantry in lieu of birthday presents, and ended up raising $40,000 in food and donations.”

Diversified Communications announced the acquisition of Expo Management in the United Kingdom. Expo Management organizes three market leading events in the UK – the biennial Euro Bus Expo, Coach and Bus Live, and Best of Britain & Ireland. The twenty year old, privately owned company also publishes leading trade magazines – Route One and Coach Monthly, both supported by online platforms, for the UK travel sector; and produces two successful award ceremonies – The Route One Operator Excellence Awards and the National Coach Tourism Awards.
Diversified Communications announces the opening of its new fitness facility –– for 175 employees in their Portland office, at a Ribbon Cutting and Award Ceremony bringing together delegates from the Portland Regional Chamber and local community with staff and project partners. Diversified built the onsite fitness facility to expand its already comprehensive wellness program, DC Balance. The DC Balance program and the plans for the new fitness facility garnered the attention of the American Heart Association who awarded Diversified Communications with the Platinum Level Worksite and Worksite Innovation Awards.
Diversified Communications, known for aggressive growth completing 20 acquisitions since 2007 and launching over 60 events since 2004, is maintaining its pace in 2014. The company announces its first acquisition of the year, Kavin Intertrade Co. Ltd., located in Bangkok, Thailand. Kavin, established in 1999, has become a leading international exhibition organizer in Thailand. This acquisition adds 7 events, both business and consumer, to Diversified’s event portfolio; and establishes a new operating division in Thailand, which joins divisions in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, India and the UK, and adds 20 employees, bringing Diversified’s total global staff to 740.
