Receivables Accountant

Diversified Communications, a Portland-based international trade show and trade magazine company, is seeking a Receivables Accountant to join our busy Accounting Department.  Primary responsibilities include:

  • Invoicing and cash receipts procedures
  • Issue and record credit/debit memos
  • Reconciliation and reporting
  • Working closely with A/R collection process
  • Process credit card payments and charge-backs
  • Faxing, filing, mailing and miscellaneous tasks, as assigned. 

The successful candidate will have 3+ years of experience working in accounting, a solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures, can demonstrate proficiency in Excel, and intuitive problem-solving. We expect superior communication and organizational skills, customer-oriented, flexibility, and comfortable in a fast-paced team environment.  Experience with Great Plains Dynamics and SalesLogix a plus.  Associates degree in accounting or comparable experience is a minimum requirement.

 

Sponsor/Attendee Sales Position

This person will be responsible for identifying, qualifying and recruiting sponsors and Key Buyer/attendees for SPAR conferences.   The successful candidate will have the ability to:

  • identify prospects and build a database of potential attendees
  • research associations and groups
  • forge relationships with associations & customers
  • develop Key Buyer program
  • conduct intensive telesales campaigns to qualify and convert attendees
  • work with marketing to create email campaigns, marketing materials and strategic plan

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years sales experience required.  Experience in technical sales or knowledge of 3D imaging market a plus.  Language skills helpful.  Sales of emedia products desired. Requires comfort level recruiting executive-level clients and cold-calling new prospects.  Proven ability to close.  Professional presentation skills critical for success.  Willing to travel.  Proven record of cultivating relationships and strategic partnerships.

Responsibilities:

Job will consist of meeting sponsor and attendee goals including attracting the latest technologies to exhibit and increasing asset owner attendance from diverse industry sectors.  Key target industries include:

  • Plant/Power
  • Civil Infrastructure/Transportation
  • Forensics/Security
  • Architecture/Engineering/Construction

Sales experience in any of these fields will be extremely valuable. Responsibilities include identifying trade associations, membership groups and top bellwether accounts.  Procuring lists of prospects, coordinating data input process, qualifying prospects via marketing/phone campaigns and meeting goals for each event.  

Ability to create incentive programs, come up with creative offers and work with exhibitors in partnership on this initiative will be key.   Will also work closely with Conference Manager, Editor, Marketing Manager and Show Director on strategic initiatives and programs.  Collaborative team player needed. 

Position will involve extensive phone time, travel to industry events and on-site management of Sponsors and Key Buyers.   

 

Junior Analyst, Customer Insights and Analytics

This position will support the CIA team in utilizing our marketing tools to perform analyses, assist in recommending direct marketing strategies, implementing and testing approaches, and translating analytical insights into actionable results through reporting or presentations. Ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities simultaneously very important; must be able to think critically, analytically, and strategically a must. Strong Excel and Access skills required.

 

Inside Sales Representative 

Inside Sales Representatives (Portland-based) are responsible for selling trade show booth space, online advertising and/or ancillary products for our international trade show and media businesses.  Ideal candidates are highly motivated individuals with strong communications skills to support an aggressive selling program, follow up and relationship building. Must be willing to travel.  Language skills a PLUS!

 

Administrative Assistant - Food Group Sales Administrator

The Food Exposition Group seeks a Group Sales Administrator to provide back-up and support in the floor placement and contract management process for the Group sales staff.  Responsibilities include:

  • providing continuity and support to entire staff regarding specific show sales activities and functions
  • utilizing Floor placement software and Sales Logix to run various reports and statistics for Vice President of Food Expositions, Sales Director, sales managers and sales representatives on DBC's shows and competitive shows
  • working with the sales/show director on floor placement and customer communication
  • organizing and submitting weekly sales reports detailing sales activity of five seafood tradeshows including placement reporting
  • filing contracts and keeping contract books up to date for each assigned show.
  • overseeing web site administration; including inserting all exhibitors, providing web links, and updating and editing information daily.
  • handling incoming calls and provides immediate service for exhibitors and non-exhibitors whenever possible.
  • organizes lists of prospective exhibitors for data services in their efforts of sending blast faxes and bulk mailings, managing prospect reports for sales team.
  • Coordinating mailings and other administrative tasks for the team, providing general backup and support to other sales and promotions administrators as needed.

Three to five years prior experience as administrator preferred. Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite products required, as well as strong customer service skills, oral and written communication skills, ability to handle multiple projects involving multiple team members, grace under pressure, strong organization and time management, and ability to meet deadlines. Some travel required.
